Amphitrax in action amphitrax logo For over 20 years Conver is building amphibious machines. Soon after the introduction of the first amphibious weed cutting boat type C530, came the slightly bigger C580 which could be also used for small scale dredging. The demand for larger and stronger amphibians has only increased since then, especially with the rise of the versatile but light weight Truxor from Sweden.

The development of the amphibious Conver machine program has taken a leap because of that, resulting in the recent introduction of the C550 and now with the new Amphitrax™. On August 17 j.l. Dutch contractors Oostenrijk & van der Wurff have taken their new modified 8-tonne Takeuchi TB175 digger with Amphitrax™ system into operation.

The machine features the amphibious tracked pontoon system with maintenance free oil filled single-chain tracks and an extended boom with a reach of 10m. Not directly eye-catching, but very practical s the patented hydraulic width adjustment of the undercarriage, which can brings the minimum transport width back to just 2,90 m.

Amphitrax™ are basically suitable for all 8-tonne excavators, but its modular design allows resizing or could be used as an custom build autonomous tool carrier with its own superstructure.

Optional are side pontoons, equipped with or without hydraulically adjustable sput poles and even a separate propulsion unit is available.
