News published: 20-11-2007
On 11 November 2007 it was exactly 10 years ago that Jan Broere en Clement Verschoor took over Conver machines and continued business under the name of Broveco Machines BV.
The crown of this anniversary is without any doubt the opening of the new workshops, paint shop and stores. With this additional fully equipped work spaces and improved logistics, we are more than ready for the next 10 years.
To celebrate this occasion a team building weekend was organised in the beautiful setting of the Belgium Ardennes. Below a short report of the event.
Friday afternoon 17 November a bus left industrial estate “de Rietdijk” with destination “Le Herou”, Nisramont Belgium. Inside it, nearly all staff of Broveco with their partners. “Le Herou” is a former hotel that has been converted for group accommodations. Situated on a fantastic private estate of 80.000m2 in a beautiful country side; our home for the weekend.
Outside it was cold, inside the wood stoves spread comfortable warmth; the weekend was opened on the diner table by a traditional Dutch pea soup with bread dish. After diner the party was divided into groups for the midnight orientation tour. Geared up with warm clothes, lights, compasses, maps and emergency rations, the groups we dropped in the Belgium hills at -10°C. After a challenging journey of several hours over fields, through forests and fast flowing brooks, all groups made it home safe and was welcomed with hot chocolate with whip cream.
On Saturday more outdoor activities were planned. The hiking, mountain biking and archery got the blood pumping and made for a healthy appetite at the end of the day. At dusk the BBQ's were lit and have been kept burning for the rest of the evening. Later on the evening it was time for the official part of the weekend. Clement kicked off with some reflections of the past 10 years followed by the celebration of the 5 colleagues that were there from day one: Kees Duijzer, Ab Koekoek, Geert van de Laar, Johan de Ruiter en Dick van Zandwijk. Then it was time for Clement en Jan to step into the spotlights, to receive two specially made waterlevelthermometers as remembrance to their 10th year anniversary as directors.
After breakfast Sunday morning it was time to get onboard the bus again for the journey back to Giessen. With batteries fully charged for another 10 years, we can look back at a fantastic weekend!
